Dr. Memu-lye Kamara
Chief Resident
What I love about our program: I came to Reading because it is a great program with great faculty who want nothing but to see you succeed and become a great EM physician.
Fun fact: I am obsessed with ice cream and puppies and I just recently fulfilled one of my ultimate dreams of become a dog mom to a golden retriever puppy!
Dr. Taylor Russell
Chief Resident
What I love about our program: I was lucky enough to rotate at Reading Hospital during my 4th year of medical school. While I was here, I felt like I immediately clicked with both the residents and the faculty. Everyone did their best to make me feel welcome and supported, and I knew I wanted to become a part of that team!
Fun fact: Back in college I won 3 different weight lifting/fitness competitions where I performed the heaviest squat, the heaviest bench press, and most sit ups in 1 minute for women in my weight class!
Dr. Rachael Trupp

What I love about our program: I chose reading for the opportunity to serve the community I grew up in.
Fun fact: I am a lover of horror films, hard rock, and spoiling my dog, Archer
Dr. Stephanie Costa
What I love about our program: I chose Reading Hospital for residency because I loved my audition rotation in the Emergency Department. The attending physicians enjoyed teaching and gave attention to my differential diagnoses and treatment plans.
Fun fact: I enjoy hiking with my dogs and making desserts
Dr. Daniel Demarco
What I love about our program: I came to Reading as a medical student and immediately fell in love with the people and culture at the hospital, and the Emergency Department in particular. From Day 1, it seemed as though I was part of the family and I couldn’t imagine anywhere I’d rather be.
Fun fact: In my free time, I still love sports and any competitive activities, endurance/obstacle races, reading, video games, and, most importantly, Mango Smoothies from the Healthplex.”
Dr. Samantha Halkett
What I love about our program: After completing a rotation here, I knew that Reading had every aspect of learning that would help me be the best EM doctor I could be. The faculty, attendings, and residents made you feel welcome and part of the team from day one.
Fun Fact: I used to be a microbiologist and have handled almost every known bacterial agent of bioterrorism.
Dr. Harpreet Singh
What I love about our program: I loved Reading’s high volume, diverse pathology, and most of all the kind caring people who work here. Reading offers the perfect mix of Community and Academic medicine that makes for a unique and amazing Emergency Medicine learning experience!
Fun fact: When I’m not in the emergency department, I spend a lot of my time climbing at my rock gym, hiking some trails, kicking a soccer ball, or watering my many plants
Dr. Eric Smith
What I love about our program: During my audition rotation here all the attendings took interest in my learning and understanding. In addition to the small town feel and all the benefits of a large metropolitan area, I knew Reading Tower Health was my home.
Fun Fact: I went scuba diving in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba
Dr. Stephanie Tauscher
What I love about our program: I chose Reading because of the amazing faculty and ED staff. They are constantly working to create the best possible learning environment for their residents and students.
Fun fact: I’ve run the Philly marathon three times, and I can’t wait to explore all the hiking/running trails in the Reading area.
Dr. Jordan Wohl
What I love about our program: I came to Reading because of the passion and commitment to learning. When I rotated here and, now, as an Intern, the faculty and staff from top to bottom were deeply invested in my success not only as an Emergency Medicine Resident, but as a person.
Fun Facts: Before Residency, I was a credentialed sports writer covering the Philadelphia Union and MLS. I’ve taken flight lessons before and would like to get my pilots license someday.
